Providing “TLC” For Well-Worn, Damaged And Uncomfortable Seats
At Saddlemen, one our constant sources of work is providing seat refurbishing and modification services to the riding public, no matter what type of machine they ride. Whether replacing the cover on a favorite seat, installing our famous Saddlegel inserts for added support and comfort, reshaping a stock saddle for better ergonomics, or upgrading seat performance and durability with our top-of-the-line foam, Saddlemen has years of experience, know-how and workmanship ready to help.
An example of recovering existing seats… These flat track racing seats, for a Saddlemen sponsored rider, are receiving custom tailored and embroidered covers, as seen before final mounting. Also, the seat on the right demonstrates some of the possibilities of foam modification and upgrading regularly done here at Saddlemen.
Measure twice, cut once. That’s how the old-but-true saying goes. Our experienced craftsmen are not just skilled but also methodical in their work. At left, in our workshop, a seat due for reshaping and Saddlegel installation is carefully pre-planned, with contours, cuts and insert areas all spelled out before any blade or tool gets near the foam. At right, another seat shows our renowned gel pads installed, awaiting final re-covering.

Stockton Area Eagle’s Nest Harley-Davidson Hosts Major Open House Event
Saddlemen was pleased to be a part of the big open house at Lathrop, California’s Eagle’s Nest Harley-Davidson, in the Stockton/Manteca area, the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Our Director of Sales, Stan Alicki, got the chance to meet and talk with riders from all across the Bay Area and Northern California, as well as the great people from Eagle’s Nest. In conjunction with one of our major distributors, Drag Specialties, there was a prominent setup of Saddlemen brand luggage on display, and Stan reports strong enthusiasm from the crowds and plenty of interest in holiday shopping for motorcycle-related gear.
Booths and vendors spread out across the dealership, and the roads were lined with bikes from across the region.
Our thanks go out to the staff and ownership at Eagle’s Nest H-D for their hospitality and cooperation. Road visits like this across the country are all part of our efforts to show the advantages of Saddlemen has to offer, and the pride we have in our product line.
And as always, we at Saddlemen invite you to see what our expertise and technology can do to make riding more enjoyable.
We Spotlight Readily Available, Lower Cost Items As Gift Ideas For Riders
To help holiday shoppers looking for “stocking stuffers” for the motorcyclists on their lists, Saddlemen has created a new section on our website, and offers a printable list of many of our popular, and most economical items.
For those wanting to shop online, our new “Holiday Gift Values” section highlights some of our best values, readily available for quick shipping.
We also have put together a printable PDF flyer that potential Saddlemen buyers can take to their local shop to help order many of the items featured in our “Santa’s helper” list. This will assist any shop that works with the major distributors, Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited, to immediately identify and correctly order the desired item.
It’s Saddlemen’s way of helping the frazzled gift giver breathe easier when facing the “shopping days until Christmas” countdown.
We invite you to see, and give the gift of, what our expertise and technology can do to make riding more enjoyable.
700-Miler Combines Product Testing And The Fun Of The Open Highway
A beautiful, crisp mid-November weekend proved an excellent time for nine riders, Saddlemen employees and friends of Saddlemen, to get in some quality touring miles out on the roads of Central California. Over the weekend, the group covered over 700 miles, and roamed from the southern Sierra Nevada foothills, across the Central Valley, and over to Santa Maria, near the Pacific Coast.
Plenty of Saddlemen products were with the group, including Stan Alicki’s BR3400 back seat bag, seen below. Our Jerry Beaty also completed the testing of some new materials incorporated into a saddle for his bagger as well.
While in Santa Maria, the bunch stopped off to pay a visit at Santa Maria Harley Davidson, and had a great chat with the owner, Kevin. Sunday meant a return leg south to the Los Angeles and Orange County area, and plenty of fun memories of a scenic trip across the varied landscapes of mid-state California.
Real on-the-road experience has always been a cornerstone of Saddlemen product development and quality control. We invite you to see what our expertise and technology can do to make riding more enjoyable.
Product Testing With Saddlemen Rider/Employees
Saddlemen’s Jerry Beaty, an avid long-distance rider, with his trusty Harley-Davidson FLH – a frequent testbed for potential products and upgrades.
Saddlemen was founded by riders, and has many enthusiastic motorcyclists on staff. This has been an excellent resource over the years, especially in product development.
Whether testing new concepts in seat design, trying out new cover materials, conducting routine quality control checks on foam and SaddleGel formulations, or “torture testing” luggage lines before they enter production, we have continually benefited by having riders involved in all stages of research and development.
Nothing beats getting the immediate, experienced feedback of a veteran motorcyclist after a full weekend on the road with a new bag, or weeks of daily use with a potential seat upgrade. Our philosophy of “for riders, by riders” has served us, and our customers well ever since we went into business.
We invite you to see what our expertise and technology can do to make riding (and travel in general) more enjoyable.
