We Are There To Celebrate The Big Illinois Dealership’s Eighth Anniversary
Saddlemen’s Gary Smith visited Chi-Town Harley-Davidson in Tinley Park, Illinois for their August 15th Eighth Birthday Party. Shown above, left to right, are Jeff Derge, Regional Sales Manager for Drag Specialties; George Tragos, owner and president of Chi-Town HD; Mark Hiel of Drag Specialties; and our own Gary Smith.
The Chicago spirit is definately strong at Chi-Town Harley-Davidson. Above the main entrance The Blues Brothers are quite prominent. We’re wondering if that bike is officially a Blues Bagger?
We at Saddlemen were glad we could be there to enjoy the festivities along with demonstrating and selling lots of our luggage, and want pass along our congratulations, thanks, and best wishes for the future to everyone at Chi-Town Harley-Davidson.
We’ll continue to be out across the country all through the year. Most often, we’ll be affiliated with a Drag Specialties display, and will always be looking forward to answering questions and proudly showing what our expertise and technology can do to make riding more enjoyable.
At Saddlemen, our customer service and sales staff make it a top priority to be helpful and understanding when dealing with shipping and warranty issues.
Sometimes, though, odd things happen that don’t quite fall into the range of usual, day-to-day shipping or warranty issues. When a new or unusual situation arises, we take note, and when practical, pass it along to all our staff as well as our customers.
We recently received an email from a customer in Minnesota, inquiring about the possibility of purchasing a new replacement driver’s backrest for a just-purchased Saddlemen Explorer seat to fit his Harley Davidson. The seat was delivered to his home while he was at work, and it seems he ran into a toothy complication after the package arrived.
Saddlemen seats and luggage… Best tasting motorcycle accessories on the market?
While the package was delivered in good condition, as the photo taken by our customer shows, it got an unexpected reception. We aim to make our seats irresistible, but this wasn’t quite what we had in mind…
Whether ordering online, or over the telephone, customers always have the option of choosing an alternate shipping location, such as their work address, or the home of a friend, neighbor or relative. We also will pass along special delivery information to our shipper, UPS, with each order, including directions on the exact location to leave the package.
In the rare event that a package is damaged en-route in shipping, before arriving, our customer service representatives and office staff are ready to handle the claims process to make the final resolution as quick, fair and painless as possible.
One final note… Despite the total destruction of the backrest piece, the main seat section survived the “attack” completely undamaged.
The Illinois State H.O.G. Rally offered us a great opportunity to meet the public, and show our motorcycle luggage, saddlebags, and of course, our seats. Saddlemen was represented at the Drag Specialties display, based during the rally at Hall’s Harley-Davidson, in Springfield. Our Director of Sales, Stan Alicki, was able to work with the knowledgeable Drag Specialties representatives, and help quite a few riders chose the best luggage and seats for their needs, and provide technical and installation assistance. The booth staff included, as pictured above, Todd, Drag Specialties Sales Representative; Mike, Drag Specialties’ Inside Sales Manager; Saddlemen’s Stan; and Johnny,Memphis Shades’ Sales Manager.

The craftsmen at Saddlemen have come up with a stylish new design for your Harley-Davidson. The popular “Tattoo” design adds 3-D flames on top of Saddlemen’s famous SaddleGel seats, for a stunning look that matches the seats’ legendary comfort. Saddlemen’s unique, high tech variegated stitch embroidery is computer controlled for a perfect stitch every time. New for 2007 is the addition of colored stitching, and matching saddlebags.
The Highwayman Tattoo saddlebags use the same stitch technique and pattern, so that the bags perfectly match the seat, giving any bike an integrated, custom look. These saddlebags feature lockable, quick release buckles as well as a lockable, zip-off yoke making it easy to remove the bags.
Tattoo colored flame seats are available in a two-up Profiler as well as Solo style with separate pillion, for all Harley-Davidson Softail, Dyna, Sportster and FLH current models. Saddle prices start at $329.95 MSRP. Highwayman Tattoo saddlebags are available in three different sizes to fit most bikes, starting at $174.95.

V-Twin Magazine’s Kit Maira recently visited Saddlemen’s facility to get a new seat for his Harley FLHT.
Because he works for a major biker publication, Kit rides a LOT, and knows the value of having a good seat under you. Saddlemen set him up with a new Road Sofa, and guess what? He loves it.
The article also gives excellent explanations of the hows-and-whys of seat design, support and comfort – the exact things we take pride in at Saddlemen.
Read the full story in the December, 2008 issue of V-Twin. Kit’s review is on pages 120-121.
